Golf:

The Dunes Course - 18 Holes – Par 72 – 6018 metres

Located at the resort and designed by Bernard Langer, the Dunes Course has been inspired by the character of the natural landscape, much of the contouring mirrors the rugged outlines of the distant mountains. Close to the sea, there is a links-like feel; further inland, it reflects a more typically Greek landscape of olive and citrus groves. Several holes run along a small river that meanders through the site and there are large undulating greens, wide fairways and steep-faced pot bunkers.

The Bay Course - 18 Holes- Par 71 – 5614 metres

Just 10 minutes’ drive from Navarino Dunes, is the Bay Course, which offers an alternative set of challenges, in a quite different setting. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the course places a slightly greater emphasis on strategic play and positional golf. The idyllic setting runs through foothills and right alongside the historic bay of Navarino. Most tees offer amazing sea views and the course rises, falls, twists and turns through three (Seaside, Canyon and Grove) distinct natural landscapes, providing striking contrasts that create a dramatic and memorable round. The clubhouse has spectacular views over the Bay of Navarino and the course.

Navarino Hills

The two new 18-hole courses are designed by the legendary golfer, José Marίa Olazábal. They are set above the coastline and offer panoramic views of the Navarino Bay, the Ionian Sea and the surrounding countryside. The newly launched Hills Clubhouse at Navarino Hills is the latest addition to the exciting dining proposition of Costa Navarino.

Inspiration

Rob Smith writes…

“There are few countries in Europe, or indeed the world, with a greater depth of history and wealth of culture than Greece. Generally acknowledged as the birthplace of western civilisation and even democracy, it was home to many of the earliest and most influential philosophers, writers and academics. Surrounded by islands, it sits in the Mediterranean Sea in southern Europe and is blessed with a wonderful climate that makes it a year-round draw. At its extreme south-western corner, the Messinia region dates back more than 4,500 years and is home to Neolithic settlements, Mycenaean palaces, classical temples, Byzantine churches and medieval castles. This is the home of Costa Navarino, an expansive, ambitious and extremely lovely development that is far more than just another resort”.
