Well now is your chance by entering the Newry, Mourne & Down Trophy and competing against other international visitors. 

Played over three days, on three of the regions best-known golf courses; Kilkeel, Ardglass and Royal County Down, the Newry, Mourne and Down Trophy is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in Ireland. 

The tournament is a great way to mingle and meet with golfers from all over Europe, is great fun to participate in and with a total prize fund in excess of £3,000 including daily prizes for category winners (Ladies, Gents & Seniors) as well as overall cumulative prizes, there is the opportunity to enjoy some great golf, great ‘craic’ and relax in the friendly surroundings of the Newry, Mourne & Down District.

The format is single stableford with cumulative scoring over the three tournament days deciding the eventual overall champion.  There will be daily prizes for category winners as well as some novelty competition prizes (nearest the pin etc.) and it promises to be another wonderful tournament.

The field is limited to 150 participants who will all take to the famed Championship Links at Royal County Down.

Sunday 3 October - Arrival into Belfast Airport. Transport can be arranged according to your individual preferences: Rental Car or Private Transport with Driver (prices available on request). Continue to the 4* Slieve Donard Hotel, Co. Down for 4 nights 
Monday 4 October to Wednesday 6 October - Over these 3 days, each golfer will play a round on all 3 courses
Wednesday 6 October - Farewell dinner and prize giving
Thursday 7 October - Departure

Royal County Down has been recognised internationally as one of the best golf course in the world and is located in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful links settings in the Murlough Nature Reserve. Against the magnificent backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne, the links stretches along the shores of Dundrum Bay, zigzagging back and forth to provide a different vista from virtually every hole. The finest of all links courses, it offers a stern challenge from the championship tees. The record is 66 set by Ireland’s first golfing superstar, Jimmy Bruen, in 1939. From the stableford tees it offers golfers of all standards the opportunity of playing a truly great course with dramatic panorama of the surrounding mountains and coastline.

Ardglass Links

Par 70, 6268 yards, one of the most spectacular courses on the island of Ireland.

Ardglass Golf Club, is a beautiful links course in a natural setting hugging the north-east coast of Ireland, where the Irish Sea can be seen from all 18 tees and greens and comes into play on no fewer than 8 holes. This is just one of the memorable and unique features of the links. The Club is well known for extending a warm welcome to its visitors who come from all parts of the world. Many of them make a point of playing Ardglass while visiting Royal County Down at Newcastle or Royal Portrush on the North Coast. Another unique feature is they have the oldest building used as a golf clubhouse in the world, parts of the clubhouse date back to the 13th century and features an excellent restaurant.

Par 72, 6579 yards, a championship parkland course.

The Course is situated at the foot of the Mourne Mountains and has hosted to the R&A and Senior European Tour having been used as a qualifying course for the British Amateur and Senior British Opens, also hosting PGA events. Many visitors have commented on the quality of the course, offering a challenge to golfers of all standards and the friendly atmosphere around the club. This parkland course has spectacular scenery of the Mourne Mountains, which can be viewed from every tee, and glimpses of the beautiful and historic Carlingford Lough can also be seen though the many mature trees, which separate the fairways, all of which will provide a memorable and enjoyable experience.
